Ha mi kang tau?

A contractor friend called me this morning and I greeted him, "Ha mi kang tau?" Meaning what's up or got lobang ah?

His reply signalled tough times ahead. "Oo kang boh thau. Oo thau boh kang."

I'll probably try the same question after Friday and hope to solicit a better response this time.
