BANG and snatch

A new form of distraction crime appears to have reared an ugly head whereby the victim's attention is diverted by setting off a fire cracker. In a recent case on Monday, two snatch thieves used this method on a woman in Putra Heights before escaping with her handbag containing RM9,000 (she had just withdrawn from a bank) and valuables.

You better be suspicious that the next bang or deflated tyre might just be a ruse, especially when you have just wihdrawn a large sum of money from the bank.
