8-year old guarantor

How in the hell did an 8-year old boy end up becoming a guarantor to a car loan, purportedly signed 4 years ago when he was still in his diapers and drinking milk?

"How could my son have stood guarantor for a loan in 2001 when he was four years old?" asked the handphone dealer in a Press conference organised by MCA Public Affairs and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong. How said the bank manager showed details in a computer which contained his son’s particulars and a signature. "My son is a Standard Two pupil and cannot even sign his own name," said How, adding he suspected someone had obtained his son’s particulars from a savings account he had opened at the same bank in 2001.
“The only way that Desmune’s details could have been leaked out is through a children’s savings account I opened for him at the bank four years ago,” he added.
