No Giza, got pizza!
The Malaysian Pharaohs who calls themselves the Malaysian Peace Mission wants to scale the Great Pyramid of Giza and cover it with a giant national flag and those of the 57 members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
This expedition, scheduled to be held from May 15 to 27, is estimated to cost close to RM200K with fundings by the Selangor Government, Youth and Sports Ministry, Ex-Servicemen’s Affairs Corporation (Perhebat). Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak officiated the launch of the expedition Tuesday.
In an immediate response, the chairman of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, the body responsible for the Giza site, said in Cairo that he would not allow the pyramid to be draped. “This cannot take place,” said chairman Zahi Hawass. “Nobody is allowed to do this.”
Whoever's brilliant idea it was, no Giza but a pizza on the face of the DPM! What an embarrassment!
