The extra degree

Water is hot at 211 degree. At 212 degree, it boils and generates the steam that powers our world. Just one extra degree and the results is so exponentially different!

Isn't this amazing?

Isn't this a beautiful but yet uncomplicated metaphor that ideally should feed our every endeavour, to consistently stretch to make the extra effort in every task, action, and effort we undertake?

That small things can make tremendous differences as the Malay proverb says, "Sedikit-sedikit, lama-lama jadi bukit."

Watch the 212 Movie.

If you think you cannot ...

"Kah Ming ha ... if you think you cannot finish, you cannot finish. If you think you can finish, you can finish. You better eat up."

Kah Chern tried to play taikoh over dinner this evening when his little brother complained that he had too much food on his plate.

I looked at him and asked, "Where did you learn that?"

A big grin across his face. "You told me one mah."

"Yes meh? When?"

"During my exams mah."

Of course, I remembered. We had set a goal for him to be among the top 5 in his class but he thought it was too difficult because his classmates are all "smarter than him." So I sat down and explained to him why he should go for that goal. To cut a long story short, I told him it's all in his mind, "If you think you can, you can. If you think you cannot, you cannot."

He made it and earned himself the beyblade he has been wanting for so long.

One head at a time

For some incomprehensible reason, GOD gives us men just enough blood to work one head at a time. No more and no less.

So don't even try to have the cake and eat it.

Good leader

In Bolehland, you can build a four-storey palace without submitting the building plan to the council. You can fail to pay your assessment for 12 years for the house you are staying in. You can also illegally build a restaurant on state reserve land and still earn praise as a good leader.

Ptuuui!

What a letdown statement from the PM himself who unfortunately doesn't appear to be leading! But how to lead when he doesn't even seem to understand what leadership is about?

Akeelah and the Bee

A story about a young girl from South Los Angeles who tries to make it to the National Spelling Bee.

Eleven year-old Akeelah Anderson's life is not easy: her father is dead, her mom ignores her, her brother runs with the local gangbangers. She's smart, but her environment threatens to strangle her aspirations. Responding to a threat by her school's principal, Akeelah participates in a spelling bee to avoid detention for her many absences. Much to her surprise and embarrassment, she wins. Her principal asks her to seek coaching from an English professor named Dr. Larabee for the more prestigious regional bee. As the possibility of making it all the way to the Scripps National Spelling Bee looms, Akeelah could provide her community with someone to rally around and be proud of -- but only if she can overcome her insecurities and her distracting home life. She also must get past Dr. Larabee's demons, and a field of more experienced and privileged fellow spellers.

Does your dream or goal seems too far away? Watch Akeelah and the Bee and be inspired.
